Split Ends
For most women, split ends are something they just have to live with. Everything we do seems to wear that fragile hair's cuticle down.
Hair dyes, blow-drys, hair irons. Well we've got to use those things, don't we? If you've promised yourself to treat your hair better from now on, here's some steps to start from.
- Don't be hard on your hair. Try to reduce the use of irons and hair-dryers as much as possible. Or find about the quality hair irons and dryers that will only minimally damage your hair.
- Use shampoos and conditioners for your own hair type. Be extremely careful if your hair is color-treated, dry and damaged - it needs extra nourishment.
- Try not to brush your hair in a hurry or use force to detangle it. Be gentle and patient.
- When your hair is wet it's more prone to breakage so don't brush right after washing it. Towel dry it and comb gently with a wide tooth comb.
- Let your hair dresser trim your hair 1 inch above the split ends. It's the only way to help the hair heal and keep the tips from splitting further.
- It's very important to eat well in order for your hair to be shiny and healthy. Our entire body has to have enough vitamins, proteins and minerals and only then will it grow healthy hair. And have energy to protect it from the damaging influences from the outside.
- If your hair is prone to split ends, trim it every 6 to 8 weeks and find a suitable deep conditioning method in order to strengthen it.
- Consult with your hair stylist about using products with shea pomade or silicone. They could make your ends look less terrible.
