Damaged Hair

If you examined a strand of hair under a microscope, you'd notice something like tiny flakes. They usually look like tiles on the roof. That's your hair's cuticle.

If the strand is a healthy one, those flakes are close together. They are firmly wrapped around the central part of the strand. That kind of hair is smooth, elastic and well supplied with proteins. That's why it reflects the rays of light as if it were a mirror. The hair is shiny and looks perfect.

The wind, smog, strong sunlight and various chemical treatments damage the hair and leave it undernourished. It becomes dry and more prone to further damage and it can all be clearly seen under the microscope. The strands are ill, "starving", and the ends are split.

The flakes that wrap the inner part of the strand of hair are not holding closely together. In that position they are not reflecting the sun rays and that's why hair seems dead.

There are no magical remedies that can cure your hair in a day. Your hair reflects the health of your entire body and you need to work from the inside as well as from the outside.

Vitamins A and B speed up the hair growth and it's rejuvenation. Try including the following into your diet:

These things have the neccesary vitamins, proteins, minerals... They work against hair loss and they strengthen the hair and its natural pigment.

If combined with some help from the outside - with lotions, deep conditioners - the recovery will be even quicker and more successful.
